DSAT Tec Deep Training
At MV Trident, DSAT Tec Deep training is a demanding 8 day / 12 dive course, giving you the skills and experience to plan and execute deep technical dives to 50m.
The end objective is that you’ll learn to make technical dives using multiple cylinders – twin set with isolator manifold plus deco cylinders, carrying out gas switches during ascent to accelerate your decompression schedule (or enhance the safety of your dive).
You’ll become certified to dive using nitrox blends of up to 100% oxygen for decompression.
Training begins with theory and shallow water work, before joining a full wreck diving expedition aboard MV Trident.
Prerequisites of the DSAT Tech diving course:
• PADI Rescue Diver or Equivalent
• Current CPR/First Aid Training
• PADI Deep Diver Specialty and EANX (Nitrox) Specialty
• 18 years old
• 100 logged dives
• 20 logged dives using nitrox
• 25 logged dives deeper than 18m
• 15 logged dives deeper than 30m
• Able to carry 50kg of scuba gear
What’s Involved in the DSAT Tec Course:
Theory
The theory portion of the DSAT Tec Deep course covers all important concepts in detail, including:
• Equipment Configuration
• Gas and Dive Planning
• Physiological issues
• Use of PC software to plan decompression schedules
• Run times and decompression schedules
• Multi Gas dive computers and gauges
• Narcosis Management
• Physical fitness requirements
Shallow water work
In shallow water we’ll be working on motor skills, familiarizing you with the twin set configuration and mastering important techniques and emergency procedures.
This means you’re able to act automatically whilst under heavy narcosis at depth. Skills will include:
• Buoyancy control both on the bottom and during deco stops
• Gas switching
• Emergency gas shutdown drills
• Long hose gas sharing drills
• Deploying a lift bag
• Executing a dive profile, sticking to run times to complete your decompression schedule
Wreck Diving Expedition
At MV Trident we believe that all our tech students deserve the opportunity to put what they’ve learned into practice.
Once your skills and theory are complete, you’ll join one of our tech live-aboard expeditions, diving deep wreck throughout the Gulf of Thailand.
As such, it’s important that we co-ordinate your tech course so that it coincides with one of our many tech diving expeditions – for a list of available dates and to find out which wrecks you have the chance to dive, drop us an email.
