Tairyu Maru

Wreck of the Tairyu maru in Thailand

Image: The Tairyu Maru, a stunning tech dive in the Gulf of Thailand

A great dive, she was sunk accidently by Dutch Sub 0-19 in Jan 1942 whilst attacking the Akita Maru.

She sits upright in less then 60m in the Southern Gulf of Thailand.

The Tairyu Maru is a 5000 ton passenger cargo steamer, perviously belonging to the prestigious NYK shipping line.  There's a lot to explore.

This is our furthest wreck to date and we believe that the Akita must be close by.
